Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is BISP’s education stipend for the children of Benazir Kafaalat families. If the mother receives Kafaalat, each enrolled child from Class 1 to Class 12 can receive a quarterly stipend, up to Rs 4,500 for a boy and Rs 5,000 for a girl at higher secondary level, as long as the child keeps at least 70% attendance. This page lists the current stipend table, who qualifies, and how enrolment works. For the mother’s own payment, see our BISP page; household status checks are covered in our Ehsaas 8171 guide.

Taleemi Wazaif Stipend Amounts per Quarter
BISP raised the stipends by Rs 500 per student in 2026. The current rates, as listed in the government’s official Year Book record and 2026 reporting, are:
| Education level | Boy per quarter | Girl per quarter |
|---|---|---|
| Primary (Class 1 to 5) | Rs 2,500 | Rs 3,000 |
| Secondary (Class 6 to 10) | Rs 3,500 | Rs 4,000 |
| Higher Secondary (Class 11 to 12) | Rs 4,500 | Rs 5,000 |
Girls receive more than boys at every level, deliberately, to keep girls in school. A girl who completes primary school also receives a one-time graduation bonus of Rs 3,000. One honest note: BISP’s own programme webpage still displays an older, lower table (Rs 1,500 to Rs 4,000). Where figures differ, the amount actually recorded for your child in the BISP system, which you can see through the 8171 service, is the one that will be paid.
Who Can Get Taleemi Wazaif?
- The child’s mother must be an active BISP Kafaalat beneficiary. If she is not, enrolment in Taleemi Wazaif is not possible until the household qualifies for Kafaalat.
- The child must be enrolled in a recognised school or college, from Class 1 to Class 12.
- The child needs a NADRA B-Form (Child Registration Certificate), which BISP verifies against the NADRA database.
- From the second quarter onward, the child must keep at least 70% attendance in the quarter, confirmed by the school.
The programme began in 2012 in a few districts and now runs across Pakistan, supporting a reported 12 million children as of mid-2026.
How to Enrol a Child in Taleemi Wazaif
- Make sure the mother is an active Kafaalat beneficiary. Check her status by sending her CNIC to 8171.
- Collect the documents: the mother’s original CNIC and the child’s NADRA B-Form.
- Visit a BISP enrolment camp or your BISP tehsil office with the mother and the child.
- Staff verify the B-Form through NADRA and record the child’s school and class.
- BISP has also introduced enrolment through its Waseela-e-Taleem mobile application, reported in 2026, which lets mothers register children without visiting an office. If you use it, download only the official app linked from BISP’s own channels.
- Once enrolled, keep attendance at or above 70% so the quarterly stipends continue.
Enrolment is free. Anyone charging a fee for it is committing fraud.
How Taleemi Wazaif Payments Reach You
Stipends are paid quarterly, together with the mother’s Kafaalat payment cycle in most cases, after the school confirms the child’s attendance for that quarter. If a payment is missing, first check whether attendance was recorded correctly by the school, because a wrong attendance entry is the most common reason a quarter is skipped. Then check the mother’s status on 8171, and if it is still unresolved, visit the tehsil office with the mother’s CNIC and the child’s B-Form. Never pay an agent to release a stipend.
What If Your Child Changes School or Misses Attendance?
Two situations worry parents most, and both have simple answers. If your child changes school, inform the BISP tehsil office or the enrolment camp where you registered, because the stipend follows the child’s enrolment record: the new school’s attendance reporting must be linked to the same child, otherwise payments pause even though the child is studying. If attendance drops below 70% in a quarter because of illness or a family emergency, that quarter’s stipend is not paid, but the child is not removed from the programme; regular attendance in the next quarter restarts the payment. Keep the school informed during any long absence and keep copies of medical notes where you have them, because a documented reason makes it far easier for the school and the BISP office to keep the child’s record in good standing.
