BISP Requests More Mobile Vans for NSER Survey Registration

Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), recently paid a visit to the Zonal office in Gilgit to inspect the state of the BISP offices and speak with beneficiaries. During her visit, she heard about the problems individuals experience, particularly in distant locations where access to BISP services is limited owing to poor infrastructure. To solve this issue, Senator Rubina has asked the government to send more mobile vans to assist with the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) census in remote communities. This request has been sent to the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan.

The Need for Mobile Vans

Senator Rubina Khalid stressed the significance of mobile vans for the NSER survey during her visit to Chillas. Many localities, particularly in isolated regions, are miles from the nearest town or district. This makes it harder for families to use BISP services. Currently, there are about 450 Tehsil Centers throughout Pakistan, but they are insufficient to service the entire population, notably in Sindh and Balochistan. This has caused a delay in registering eligible families for the BISP program. Increasing the number of mobile vans allows more families to be served, ensuring that they receive the financial assistance they require.

Improving Access to Remote Areas

Although BISP has established Tehsil Centers in many districts, many people in distant locations continue to struggle to access the program’s services. This is especially true in inner Sindh and Balochistan, where people are frequently uninformed of the resources available through BISP. To solve this issue, BISP has already deployed some mobile vans in these areas and intends to expand the service to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) soon. Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized how important these mobile vans are in bringing more individuals into the BISP system and ensuring they can register for the program.

How the Mobile Van Registration Works

The mobile van registration method works by conducting door-to-door surveys. BISP personnel, together with mobile vans, visit distant locations to register families for the NSER survey. This strategy ensures that even the most remote homes are accessed. Women who qualify for monthly payments of Rs 13,500 are registered if their NSER score is less than 32. Furthermore, the BISP mobile vans frequently collaborate with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to provide CNIC cards to women who do not have one. This is important since a valid CNIC is necessary to benefit from BISP initiatives.

Key Points of the Mobile Van Program

Mobile vans travel to rural locations for door-to-door registration. Women with NSER scores less than 32 are eligible for compensation. NADRA helps give CNIC cards to unregistered women. More mobile vans are needed to reach distant areas. The mobile van service has proven to be quite effective in reaching people in remote regions, but the current fleet of vans is insufficient. Expanding this program will enable more families to register and receive the assistance they require.

No Online Registration for NSER Survey

One prevalent misperception is that people can sign up for the NSER survey online. Senator Rubina stated that the BISP does not conduct online surveys for the Benazir Kafalat Program. The only ways to register are through mobile vans or by going to a BISP office. Families must physically enter their information into the BISP system to be eligible for the program. This is why it is critical to increase the number of mobile vans, so that more individuals in distant locations may participate in the survey and benefit from the program.

Conclusion

Senator Rubina Khalid’s call for extra mobile vans to assist with NSER survey registration is critical for reaching out to families in distant locations that require financial assistance. These mobile vans serve an important role in ensuring that impoverished families, particularly those in rural areas, have access to the Benazir Income Support Programme. The deployment of mobile vans, combined with NADRA’s CNIC registration help, guarantees that eligible individuals are registered and receive BISP monthly payments. The development of this service will enable the program to reach more individuals and enhance the living situations of underprivileged families in Pakistan.
